Acne scars – Acne is one of the most common inflammatory skin conditions. The estimated prevalence (frequency) in adolescence is around 80%. Acne is a multifactorial, chronic inflammatory skin condition of the sebaceous follicle, which occurs particularly during puberty, but also in adulthood. Several causes can be held responsible for the development of acne vulgaris. On the one hand, the sebaceous gland can become blocked due to hormonal factors as a result of excessive keratinization (hyperkeratosis), which leads to excessive sebum production. Both bacteria and pro-inflammatory messenger substances (chemical substances that transmit information between the cells in the body) are involved in the development of acne, causing inflammatory skin blisters. In addition, an increased pH value and a disturbed barrier function contribute to the development of acne.
Inflammatory injuries to the skin tend to form scars as they heal. During the inflammatory process, excessive elastase (enzyme that breaks down the cement substance of the elastic muscle fibers) and collagenase (enzyme that breaks down collagens and their degradation products) can be produced. As a result, collagen and elastic fibers are broken down, causing the skin surface to sag, resulting in atrophic scars (tissue atrophy). This is the case in 80-90% of cases.
More rarely, hypertrophic or keloid scars, an enlargement of the skin tissue, can also form if the collagen itself is overproduced. The severity and type of scars can vary depending on the degree of inflammation and the extent and duration of the tissue damage.

Do not apply any acidic products 2 weeks beforehand
Showering should be avoided for 24 hours after the treatment. Prolonged exposure to sunlight and saunas should be avoided for a week. Physical exertion that makes you sweat is also taboo for a week. Sun cream with sun protection factor 50 should be used consistently for the first month after treatment. You should also make sure that you use the care products we give you several times a day.
In our professional acne scar treatment, we work with an anesthetic cream so that the treatment is painless. After the treatment, it is possible that the treated skin may feel tight, but this usually subsides after a few days. We also provide you with some care instructions and care products for rapid healing of the treated facial skin free of charge as part of the treatment price.
This varies depending on the severity of the acne scars.
